Stewart Island
This small triangular island is now a National Park. The small
population lives around Halfmoon Bay on the east side. Oban, the
township, offers a good Department of Conservation information centre
and some accommodation.

There are clearly marked short walks and bus and boat trips and good
scope for tramping and fishing. There is a lot of history to explore.
