Kea makes it painless by supplying all the riding gear – including helmets, gloves and the latest technology jackets and trousers (but not boots). For anyone who wants to share a weekend with another person on the luxury BMW K1200LT cruising bike, inter-com helmets are supplied. They also plug in to the bike’s CD player.
At Kea Motorcycles we recommend a number of popular winter routes for consideration and we can book accommodation or flights if required (although accommodation and flights are not included in the specials price.)
A popular trip from Auckland is through the Bay of Islands to Cape Reinga, back through the West Coast Kauri forests, Dargaville and Muriwai.
Another is Coromandel, calling at Thames, Whitianga, Hahei, and Wangamata.
In Christchurch the Alpine loop through Arthurs Pass, Lake Brunner, Punakaiki, Buller Gorge, Lewis Pass, Hanmer Springs and Kaikoura is a scenic delight.
Another popular weekend trip is the “Marlborough Delight” which goes from Christchurch, through Kaikoura, Blenheim, Nelson, Murchison, Lewis Pass, Hanmer Springs and back to Christchurch.
Aoraki Mount Cook is another excellent tour, taking in Mount Hutt, Tekapo, Mt Cook, Lindis Pass, Alexandra, St Bathans, Moeraki, Timaru and back to Christchurch.
