This song pertains to the bizarre circumstances that surrounded
John Lennon's death. The murderer, mentally ill Mark David Chapman,
thought that he was a character from J. D. Salinger's famous/infamous
book 'The Catcher in the Rye'. Leading up to the murder Chapman went
through a series of scene re-enactments, and he also performed a satanic
rite to give him 'strength' after his first murder attempt failed.
Fundamentally the song is a tribute to John. A visit to the wall
outside Abbey Road studios in London will make it clear
that John's memory 'will live on'.
'The Death Of John' was recorded on a 4 track a year or two ago,
and has a fairly raw, live sound.
